NEIKA ENVIRONMENTAL

“Neika” (pronounced ne-ka) is an Innu word with the meaning ‘clean.’  This name represents the partnership between CORE Environmental and the Innu Nation of Labrador. The collaboration, crafted by Sheshatshiu owner Paul Rich and CORE, is dedicated to ensuring a “Clean Future” for the proud and strong Innu generations to come.

NEIKA

Origin of Neika Environmental

Neika was introduced to fulfill a vision. Using the power of partnership, we  drastically improve a company’s bottom line. Neika does this by implementing best industry practices combined with best available technologies in the field of environmental and waste management. With an unmatched knowledge of Labrador’s geography and unique logistics combined with CORE’s waste management industry experience, we have created a company that provides indisputable value to our clients. Neika showcases the best waste and resource management solutions:  waste minimization and valorization, reuse and recovery, specialized treatment of solids and liquids, advanced bioremediation and stabilization, to final unconventional off-site transport systems and smart disposal. Neika is committed to achieve economic prosperity, social well-being, and environmental stewardship.

Neika’s Vision is to build meaningful and lasting partnerships between the Industry and Indigenous communities based on a foundation of mutual respect, trust, and reciprocity.

“Through these industry partnerships, we aim to honor and integrate Indigenous knowledge, values, and traditions, contributing to the self-determination and resilience of our Indigenous people”

CORE Environmental Indigenous Collaboration

CORE’s dedication to environmental sustainability is enhanced by our strong alliances and partnerships with Indigenous communities throughout Canada. We are committed to implementing responsible environmental practices and promoting local employment by honoring traditional knowledge.

For us, partnerships are foundational, not just transactional. They are the building blocks of long-term success in every aspect of our work. Whether we’re collaborating with industry leaders, community organizations, or our Indigenous communities, we connect through open communication, mutual respect, and shared goals. This approach allows us to solve complex challenges, strengthen communities, and deliver lasting, impactful results.

We build trust through respectful engagement, inclusive employment, and long-term relationships that prioritize Indigenous ownership, knowledge, and capacity building for sustainable economic growth. We foster transparent relationships with all our business partners through shared values and a commitment to operational excellence. Our work consistently prioritizes collaborative decision-making, sustainable development, and cultural preservation.

CONCLUSION

Strength Through Partnership

Neika gives industry a way to meet their Indigenous benefit commitments while strengthening their operations. By combining local partnership with advanced waste and environmental solutions, we create programs that save money, reduce liabilities, and deliver measurable environmental results. It is a practical path to stewardship, community value, and long-term performance — all aligned in one partnership.
